Funeral services for Reginald " Reggie" Napoleon Bryan, 85, of Downsville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Downsville Baptist Church.

Rev. Richard May, Rev. Jimmy Eppinette, and Rev. Mike Devillier will officiate. Interment will follow at the Mt. Nebo cemetery.

Mr. Bryan was born on July 2, 1924, and passed away peacefully in his sleep January 2, 2010 of natural causes. Reggie served in the 22nd Marine Unit – 6th Division and received a Purple Heart during the invasion of Guam. His working career centered around brick and flooring sales. He was a long-time member of Downsville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

He is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Earl F., Holmes, Lanier, and two sisters Cecil Brooks, and Nelda Jacobs.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Pardue Bryan, and 7 children: Laura Lee Bryan, Andy and wife Michelle, Kay Bryan Stokes, Roger, Philip and wife Linda, David and wife Beverly, Steve and wife Kathy. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, as well as sister-in-law Joye Pardue Tucker and husband Bill, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 4th, 2010 at Downsville Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnnie McFarland, Tommy Banks, Cleve Jr. Hammons, Aaron Bryan, Chad Kinnaird, David Bryan Jr., Erick Bryan, Matthew Kinnaird.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Lazenby, Tommy Baskin, Ronnie Hammons, Earnie Bruce, and Layne Parnell.
