Susan - Captain Carroll Ripley, 87, of Susan, died Saturday in his home.
A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, he retired as a waterman.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amye C. Ripley; two sons, Capt. Arnold Ripley of Susan and Robert Ripley of Chesapeake; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Armistead and Mrs. Hezekiah Hudgins, both of Bavon; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Luther Marks.
Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church by 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the building fund of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Saluda, is in charge.
