MATHEWS - Myrle R. Armistead, age 102, of Port Haywood, Va., passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. Armistead Jr. She was a lifelong member of Beulah United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Harriet Whitener of Mathews Va.; grandchildren, Susan W. Lowery of North Carolina, David C. Whitener Jr. (Susan) of Chesapeake, Va., and Stephen Whitener (Debbie) of Florida; four great-grandsons, Matthew, Brandon, Daniel and Dennis.
A memorial service will be held in Beulah UM Church, Susan, Va., at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service in St. Paul Annex Cemetery.
