Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical United Bretheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Merlin Goehring will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Reedsville.
The former Augusta Sonnabend was born May 15, 1882, in the Town of Rantoul, Calumet County, daughter of the late Detlef and Augusta Lau Sonnabend. She was married to Louis Fischer in 1901 and the couple operated a cheese factory for 31 years. Mrs. Fischer was active in Zion church and its Women's Society of World Service, serving 20 years as its treasurer. She was also primary superintendent and a teacher for many years in the church Sunday School.
Mrs. Fischer is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Olivia) Heintz, of Reedsville, a sister, Mrs. William Matznick, of Brillion, three brothers, Carl, of Collins, Theodore, of Brillion and Arthur, of Rt. 1, Reedsville, and nieces and nephews. Three sons, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday until 10:30 Monday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until time of service.
