After many hardships with drought and grasshoppers they sold their place and came to a farm east of Table Rock, NE where he spent the rest of his life. He died of stomach cancer at his home.
OBITUARY- VACLAV BLECHA
James Blecha, for half a century, a resident of this vicinity, died at his farm home, east of town, on Sunday morning, from cancer of the stomach. He has been a sufferer from the disease for a long time and gradually grew worse until death came. He was a worthy citizen and a kind husband and father. He leaves a widow, six sons and two daughters to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held at the home on Thursday, conducted by F.A. Stack, burial being made in Dry Branch cemetery. To the sorrowing wife and children the Argus extends the sympathy of the community.
TABLE ROCK ARGUS- APR. 23, 1920, PG. 1
(Note: He was buried in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Richardson Co., Nebr.)
Thanks goes to Shirley Blecha Larson for the family photo from her parents , Rudolph & Vlasta Blecha's collection! The family history was compiled by Arthur Lang with the help of Arvid Blecha & George Henzel. They have made it possible for the rest of us to follow our family lines!
