H.L. Aubry Sr., age 95 years, retired farmer and oldest resident of the Mt. Lebanon community, died at the home of his son, F.L. Aubry, in Mt. Lebanon, Thursday, January 14.
Funeral services were held Friday after at 3 o'clock at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. J.C. Cox officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Conger funeral home in Arcadia.
Pallbearers were Henry Sutton, Dick Sutton, J.C. Sutton, J.R. English, Hardy Courtney, and Melton Courtney.
Deceased is survived by three sons, H.L. Aubry Jr. of Sailes, F.L. Aubry and L.H. Aubry of Mt. Lebanon; six grandchildren, Clyde Andrews of El Paso, Texas, Sgt. Floyd L. Aubry, U.S. Army Air Force, Charles A. Aubry of Shreveport, Virginia Ray Aubry of Mt. Lebanon, Mrs. Noel Meredith of Miami, Fla. and Mrs. Marjorie Tippett.

Henry L. Awbrey, a leading planter of Claiborne Parish, was born in Heard County, Georgia, in 1848, being one of a large family. His father. Philip Awbrey, was a native of Georgia, son of William Awbrey, also a Georgian. His mother, the former Miss Frances Fomby, with her husband and family, came to Claiborne Parish in 1857. Here Henry secured a common-school education, and in 1876 married Miss Elizabeth Keener, daughter of J. F. Keener, a native of Alabama, and Martha Hackney Keener, also of Alabama. Seven children were born to them, of whom five survived: Clyde, Bessie, H. L., Ray E., and Floyd L. Mr. Awbrey was a very successful planter, a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and he and his wife were prominently identified with civic life of the community.
