An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, July 8, 1976:

Lee Ernest Gober, 64, of Slidell, La., a former Coryell County resident, died Saturday in the home of his brother, Clarence Gober, in Fort Worth.
He had been stricken ill a few days earlier while visiting in Fort Worth.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. W. E. Smith officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Gober was born Dec. 7, 1911, in Coryell County and was reared at Turnersville.
He farmed in the Turnersville community for several years.
He married Miss Mary Ola Brown in Gatesville on Dec. 7, 1938.
Mr. Gober served in the U. S. Army during the World War II years of 1942 to 1945.
He returned to the Gatesville area after the war and in 1958 he and his wife moved to Waco, where he was employed by 7-Up Bottling Co. for ten years.
Mr. Gober moved to Slidell after his wife's death in 1967, and retired two years later.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Gober is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Doyle (Patsy Sue) Dossman of Slidell; his brother, Clarence Gober of Fort Worth; seven sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Stubblefield of Flat, Mrs. Bertha Richardson of Moody, Mrs. L. J. (Eva) Burleson of Lakeview, Mrs. G. D. Cunningham of Elm Mott, Mrs. Henry Laywell of Garland, Mrs. Jessie Smith of McGregor and Mrs. M. R. Criswell of Sacramento, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
