obit: Chico Enterprise-Record, Chico, CA, Saturday, July 20, 1963: "Nanno W. Cummins. Gridley (E-R) -- Mrs. Nanno W. Cummins, 88-year-old member of a pioneer Butte County family, died yesterday afternoon in an Oroville hospital following a six weeks' illness.
"Born March 4, 1875, in Central House to Daniel and Mary Abbey who settled in that area in 1852, Mrs. Cummins attended the Notre Dame Convent in Marysville and lived in Central House until 1944 when she moved to Gridley. She made her home here at 283 Ohio St.
"She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps of Oroville.
"Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Estelle Hale of Gridley and Mrs. Marguerite Anderson of Menlo Park; a brother, Samuel D. Abbey of Gridley; a niece and a grand-nephew.
"Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Block Funeral Home with services Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Oroville Cemetery."
