Janie Elder Davenport, 47, was the wife of Henry Davenport, Sr. In the family bible, her birth name was Lucy Jane Elder. She is the daughter of Sarah Willoughby Elder and Jack Elder. They were married on May 5, 1907. To their union was born Henry "Buddy" Davenport, Jr, Florence Davenport and Ida Davenport. Her husband Henry adopted Lizzie Elder, Lottie Elder, Lillie Elder, Lurene Elder and Major Elder, when they married. In 1910, they resided in Wildcat (Oconee County), GA. When daughter Lottie Elder Davenport passed away, she was interred at Tignall Cemetery in Watkinsville, GA. Grandmother was a wonderful cook and beloved mother. She did the best she could.

In 1880, Lucy Jane's family lived in Wild Cat, Oconee Co., GA. Along with parents Sarah W. Elder (age 23) and, and father Jack Elder (age (41), there were the following children and their listed ages: Major Elder (16), George Elder (15), Isiah Elder (13), Emma Elder (9), Alonzo Elder (8), Willie Elder (6), Fannie Elder (5), Jane was 3, Alford Elder (2), and 6 mo. old Inus.
