Funeral service for James Homer Bates, 45, Athens 2, who died Friday at the Athens-Limestone Hospital, will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Homer Bates, Athens; four sons, Randy Bates, Danny Bates, Joseph Bates, and Anthony Bates, all of Athens; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Bates, Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Coy Usery, Elkmont, and Mrs. Fred Christopher, Athens; three brothers, Hubert Bates, Pat Bates, and Lenzy Bates, all of Athens; and a grandchild.
