Woodrow Hubbard, 80, of Smithboro, died August 18 at 7:58 p.m. at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. He was a former Sorento and Panama resident.
Funeral srvices were held Wednesday at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento with Rev. Douglas McCracken officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside cemetery.
Born Aug 11, 1916 in St. Elmo, Mr. Hubbard was the son of Willam and Alice (Logue) Hubbard. His first marriage was to June Johnson, who preceded him in death in 1983. His second marriage was to Nancy Duckworth January 12, 1988 in Smithboro. She survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Susan Hubbard of Lincoln and Catherine Allsman of Kingman, Ariz; a sister, Genevieve Allen of Sorento; two brothers, Willard Hubbard of Hillsboro and Simon Hubbard of Old Ripley; and five grandchildren.
Two sons preceded him in death.
Mr. Hubbard had served in the U.S. Army during World War II, had lived most of his life in the Panama, Sorento and Smithboro area, and had lived in Alton and Jacksonville for a short time. He was a member of the Catholic church and was a member of the American Legion.
