Mrs. Alice M. Hubbard, a resident of the Sorento and Panama vicinity for the past 20 years, and formerly of Pocahontas, died early Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital at Highland following and extended illness.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Sorento Methodist church the Rev. Dale Sanner officiating. Interment was at Robinson cemetery west of Pocahontas.
Alice Melissa Logue, daughter of William H. and Elizabeth Gilmore) Logue, was born in St. Elmo, March 18, 1884 and was aged 71 years, nine months and 29 days. About 56 years ago she married at St. Elmo to William F. (Frank) Hubbard. They resided in St. Elmo until about 1916 when they moved to Pocahontas where they lived for 18 years and in 1935 they moved to the Sorento Panama community.
Survivng are eight sons, William F. of Beckemeyer, James A, Willard B., and Floyd H. of Panama, Woodrow W. of East Alton, Orville S. of Hillsbors, Ralph R. in the armed forces overseas and Harry E. of Effingham and three daughers, Mrs. Myrtle M. Tiler of Beckemeyer, Miss Ruth B. Hubbard of Chicago and Mrs. Robert L. Allen of Sorento. Fours sisters, Miss Lucy Logue, Mrs. Lora Riley, Mrs. Ida Weaver and Mrs. Amanda Hubbard all of St. Elmo. The husband and father died several years ago.
