Donald Eugene Holbert, 77, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009.

He was born in Sweetwater, Texas on March 26, 1932 to Peter Addis Holbert and Anna Eliza Marshall Holbert. He served in the Navy for four years. He worked in the oilfield for many years. He was a long time resident of Odessa and an avid Permian Football fan.

He is survived by a son, Jim Holbert and wife, Linda of Longview; daughter, Donna Blakely of Midland; grandchildren, Katie Barnes, James Brandon Holbert, Donald Blake Holbert and wife Kara, Kelli Blakely, and Lacie Nicole Holbert; great grandchildren, Madilynn and a future great grand child.

He was preceded in death by his wife Juatheata Holbert and numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Friday, October 2, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment with military honors with VFW post 4372 will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
