Services for Gottlieb J. Schneider, 66, will be Friday. Mr. Schneider, a retired railroader and city employee, died Tuesday in the Sterling hospital.
Scripture and rosary ser vices will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jones Hettinger Funeral Home Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m, Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.Officiating will be Father James Kane and Father Terence Keefe.
Mr. Schneider was born Oct. 22, 1911 in Gabel, Russia, a son of John and Margaret Stieb Schneider. He came to the United States with his parents in 1913 and they settled in Sterling. He became a naturalized citizen in 1962.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad 25 years, and then for the City of Sterling street department for 14 years, retiring in 1974. He married Margaret Haberkorn in Sterling on Feb. 5, 1935. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church. Survivors include his widow, Margaret Schneider, 708 Hamilton; four sons. Adam of Arvada; Robert, Golden; Ronald, Iliff, and Kenneth,Sterling; three daughters:Mrs. Betty Sevalt, Sterling;Mrs. Barbara Savolt,Hawthorne, Calif., and Mrs.Eleanor Wiggett, Greeley;three sisters: Mrs. Margaret
Weingardt, Mrs. Anna Dillie and Mrs. Elizabeth Bretz, all of Sterling; and 15 grandchildren. The Jones-Hettinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
