Mrs. Margaret E. Weingardt, 74, of Sterling died Friday at her Sterling home. Scripture and roasary services will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Sunday from the Hettinger Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday from St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Rev. James Kane the celebrant. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Mrs. Weingardt was born March 6, 1906, in Rothmal, Russia, to John and Margaret Stieb Schneider. She came to the United States with her parents in 1912 and settled in Sterling. On April 19, 1926, she married Frank J. Weingardt in Sterling. He preceded her in death in 1966. Mrs. Weingardt became an American citizen in 1946. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Mrs. Weingardt is survived by four sons, Adam and John Weingardt, Sterling, Tom Weingardt of Lakewood and Larry Weingardt of Colorado Springs; and five daughters, Mary Stacey of Eureka,Calif., Christine Morgan of Pamona, Mo., Katherine Cecelia Lazzaretti and Dorothy Gertner, both of Sterling, and Margaret Grozse of Willow Springs, Mo. She is also survived by two sisters, Anne Dillie and Elizabeth Bretz, both of Sterling, 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Hettinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
