Sam Joe Gulley, 84, longtime resident of Brunswick died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his residence. He was retired from Babcock and Wilcox after 27 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict. He received two Bronze Stars, a National Service Medal and a Korean Service Medal. He loved fishing and playing cards with his friends. Survivors include three daughters; Debra G. Sefakis of Euless, Texas, Barbara Miller and Sandra Hutchinson, both of Brunswick; a sister, Peggy Seamans of Marietta; brother, Richard Russell Gulley of Jesup; one grandson; seven step grandchildren; fifteen step great grandchildren, and eight step great great grandchildren; one godson, Billy McQueen and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Gulley; three brothers, Ben Gulley, Horace Gulley and Jimmy Gulley.
