November 20, 1939, wedding party of Helen T. Abbot and Cooper Van Antwerp taken in the front parlor at 910 Government Street, Mobile. Back row, left to right: (possibly) Michael T. Murphy, unidentified, Dr. Walter Minor (who married Betsy Van Antwerp), T. Cooper Van Antwerp, Garet Van Antwerp III (who married Mary Pillans) and Peter Bryce Hamilton (brother of Clarkson Hamilton who married Martha Pillans). Front row: Salinda Taylor (Mrs. L.B.) Bewley, Miss Harriet Gill, maid of honor, Helen Taylor Abbot, and Elizabeth Ray (Mrs. Henry Karl) Toenes, matron of honor.

The man on back row second from left may be Dr. Sidney Van Antwerp, or William Bush, or Henry Toenes, who were ushers.

State Senator Garet Van Antwerp was with Michael T. Murphy later when Senator Murphy collapsed and died of a heart attack at his office in the Van Antwerp Building (not on the floor of the senate chamber in Montgomery as has been stated).

Peter Bryce Hamilton was Director of Finance for the State of Alabama and the author of the civil service legislation for the City of Mobile.
