Berlin News Record, December 30, 1908:
Death of Mrs. A. Doerr -
The death took place on Tuesday at her home, 139 Wellington street, of Mrs. Adam Doerr.
She had been a sufferer for the past 25 years with a complication of diseases. Three years ago she underwent an operation at the B. & W. Hospital, which proved beneficial for a time, but for the past three months she had been confined to her bed. For five weeks she had not been able to take any nourishment, and her strength gradually failed. She was conscious until the last. During the long hours of suffering Mrs. Doerr never complained, but bore her illness with patience and Christian fortitude.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Lovina Bechtel, was born in Wilmot Township and has resided in Berlin for the past 14 years.
She was 52 years, 4 months and 6 days of age.
Exactly 34 years ago to the day of her death, she was married to Mr. Adam Doerr, who, with a family of 5 sons and 4 daughters, survive her.
The funeral will be held on Friday, January 1st, at 2 p.m., from her late residence, 139 Wellington Street, to Trinity Methodist Church for service, and thence to the East End Cemetery for burial. The services at the church will be in both English and German.
