Mrs. Wade Burgess passed away at her home near Houlka Sunday morning, following a long illness.
She was one of the county's pioneer citizens and a member of the Methodist Church for many years.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. S P Andrews, were held Monday afternoon in the Baptist Church and interment was made at Old Houlka.
Surviving are her husband and seven sons; Messrs. Roland, Harvey Lee, Kelly, Andy, Millard, Robert, and Ray Burgess; and one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Berry.
