Services at Houlka for Roland Burgess
Services for Roland Burgess of Houlka, a TVA contractor, were conducted Monday at the Houlka Baptist Church with the Rev. Crawford Ray officiating. Burial was in the Old Houlka cemetery. He was 61.
Mr. Burgess died late Saturday at the Houston Hospital after an illness of several months.
He leaves his wife, five sons, Mitchell Burgess of Houlka, Leroy Burgess of Memphis, James Burgess of Bessemer, Ala., J R Burgess of Tulsa, Okla., and Duane Burgess, a student of East Central Junior College; four daughters, Mrs. Elaine Haney of Lambert, Mrs. Ruth Bang of Kreole, Miss., Mrs. Lothair Lucius of Houston and Mrs. E F Tallent of Phoenix, Ariz.; five brothers, Andy, Kelley and Robert Burgess of Houlka, Ray Burgess of Memphis, Harvey Burgess of Houston; and a sister, Mrs. Hal Berry of Houston.
