A memorial service for Fena L. Johnston of Lakeview will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Patrick Norris officiating. Visitation will be at Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnston died Friday, July 18, 2008, in Lakeview at age 70.

She was born Sunday, Sept. 26, 1937, in Douglas County, Mo., the daughter of Otis Collins and Myrtle Detrick. She married Herb Johnston Nov. 7, 1996, at Harrison. Fena lived in Lakeview for six years, moving from Russellville. She was a graduate of Dury College with a degree in sociology and was administrative assistant for Douglas County. She loved gardening.

Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband, Herb Johnston; brothers Charles (Laverne) Collins of Fairview, Mo., and Dexter (Lynn) Collins of Buffalo, Iowa; sisters Bonnie Haskins and Mary (Johnie) Crain. both of Muscatine, Iowa; stepchildren Herbert Curtis (Cathy) Johnston of St. Charles, Mo., Linda Heyse of Orlando, Fla., and Scott (Susan) Johnston of St. Peters, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don Collins and Dale Collins; sister, Marie Hicks; and infant twin sister, Relda Collins.
