Joseph Byron Segrest, 89, of 324 Melrose, died Thursday in a local hospital.
A native of Mississippi, he lived in Corpus Christi since 1902. He was warehouse superintendent for many years at Crocker Transfer and Storage for many years before his retirement. He was a member of Parkdale Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Crocker Segrest; two sons, Charlie Segrest, David A. Segrest; four grandchildren, David Segrest, Mrs. Robie Stevens, Mrs. Carrie Carey, all of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Rose Webb, Harlingen; three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cage-Mills Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park. Cage-Mills Downtown Chapel. (Unnamed, undated newspaper clipping)
