He was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Bloomington to Harvey and Alta Spencer Agrue.
Surviving are one sister, Mary (and Ralph) Huth of Pittsburg.
One brother preceded him in death.
He received a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University in Bloomington.
He worked in the scheduling department at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for more than 40 years, retiring in 1983. Previously, he was a school teacher in the Chillicothe area for three years.
He was a member of the National Wildlife Federation and the National Geographic Society.
Burial will be in LaSalle Cemetery in South Rome.
