Crowell,TX 'Foard County News'__Sept 27, 2001__Raymond Stanley Joy, 81, of Conroe, died at his home on September 07, 2001. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 09, at Forest Park, The Woodlands Chapel in Conroe with Rev. Jerry Frank officiating. Graveside services and interment was held September 11 in Fort Sam Houston Military Cemetery in San Antonio. Mr. Joy was born July 10, 1920 in Crowell, a son of the late C.C. and Mary E. Joy. He was a graduate of Crowell High School where he was a quarterback on the football team. He served as a fighter pilot and instructor in the United States Air Force during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Joy; one son, John Joy of Abbeville, LA; one brother, Meade Kendrick Joy of Amarillo; two sisters, Opal Davis Carpenter of Amarillo and Elizabeth Hunt of Dodson, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Stanley Joy, a United States Marine killed in active duty in Vietnam, and Michael Don Joy of New Braunfels,TX.
