Marvin Edward Dayton, 72, died suddenly on Saturday, Oct 13, 2001 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct 17, in the Cokeville LDS Chapel. Burial in the Cokeville Cemetery.
He was born Nov 1, 1928 in Cokeville, to Marvin M and Rebecca Bird Dayton. He married Joyce Ann Cozzens on Nov 28, 1948 in Cokeville.
He graduated from Cokeville High School and then attended barber school in Salt Lake City. He worked as a barer in Cokeville and also drove a school bus for many years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member of the Cokeville Lions Club, served on the city council, and cemetery board and on the volunteer fire department. He was the only male survivor of the original Cokeville Canasta Club.
Ed also helped start and build the Cokeville Ski Lift. Ed was a true good-Samaritan, constantly looking for ways to help others especially the widows of Cokeville. He was a friend to all and was a great supporter of all high school activities, either driving the bus to the activities for the students or just showing up with all of his enthusiastic support. He is truly going to be missed by all who knew him.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Joyce, one daughter sally Robinson of Worland, WY; two grandchildren; one brother Emford Dayton and one sister Elvon Holden both of Cokeville.
