Emford William Dayton, 92, died Wednesday Oct 24, 2991 at his home in Cokeville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct 27, in the Cokeville LDS Chapel.
He was born Dec 13, 1908, in Dingle, ID to Mavin Moroni and Alice Rebecca Bird Dayton. He married Nona Hayes on May 1, 1939 in Randolph UT and the marriage ws later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1953.
He grew up doing ranch work. He worked for Nelsons, Reed Dayton and as foreman for Covey-Bagley-Dayton ranch at Smith's Fork for 33 1/2 years. He was a boxer as a young man, quite a practical joker and liked watching TV. He loved the outdoors especially camping, fishing and hunting and he was such a devoted husband that those were the only times he ever left his wife.
After he moved back to town he worked for the Fish and Game Dept. for several years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Emford is survived by his wife of Cokeville, one daughter Shannon Kay Nicholas of Honeyville UT and one sister Elvene Dayton, Holden of Cokeville, eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
