Lovina Thayer Cornwell was born in Spring Valley, Minnesota, January 10, 1866 and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thayer. She was married to Mr. Charles Cornwell in 1885, and to this union were born eight children, all of whom survive her. She died at her home in Spring Valley, on April 12, 1922, at the age of 56 years, 3 months and 1 day, leaving to mourn her death her husband and children: Mrs. A.E. Mapes of Maze, North Dakota; Cyrus Cornwell of Grand Meadow, Minnesota; Mamie, Frank, Abraham, Finch, Mildred and Verna of Spring Valley; also two sisters and three brothers: Mrs Lucetta Cornwell Spring Valley, Minnesota; Frank D. Thayer of Los Angeles, California; Center D. Thayer of Prescott, Arizona; Miss Etta M. Thayer, Crowley, Louisiana and Wilder Thayer, Lafayette, Louisiana. The funeral was held from her late home on Friday, April 14, at 3 o'clock p.m. The services were in charge of Miss Kate Ronken of Minneapolis, and interment was in the Spring Valley cemetery.
