FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TODAY FOR MRS. OTIS DIXON, 79

Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Julia E. Dixon, 79, life-long resident of Saline county, who died Saturday at 7:10 p.m. at her residence at 114 North Vine street. Rev. R. W. Wallis conducted the service which took place at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist church. Interment was in Masonic cemetery at Raleigh.

Mrs. Dixon had been ill since last spring after suffering a severe attack of pneumonia.

Born in Raleigh township in 1868, Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of the late Solomon and Paralee Cable. In 1886 she married Otis Dixon, who survives, as do the following children: Herbert C. Dixon of Harrisburg; Mrfs. Stella Stricklin, Raleigh; Irl L. Dixon of Harrisburg; Roy C. Dixon, of Harrisburg, temporarily residing in Springfield; and Charles w. Dixon of Murphysboro. One son, Edgar, died at the age of 15, Additional survivors are one brother, George Cable of Raleigh, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dixon had lived in Harrisburg most of her married life with the exception of two years, during which time and and her husband lived in Raleigh. A month ago they returned to Harrisburg.

Mrs. Dixon was a charger member of the American Legion Auziliary and was a member of the First Baptist church of this city.
