Molly Wamboldt, 91, of Sterling, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, in Sterling.
Closed casket services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998 at 2 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Andrew Dimit officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Wamboldt was born on Oct. 22, 1906 to Conrad Sr. and Charlotte (Schad) Helmut in Konstantinowski, Russia. Her family moved to the Sterling and Merino area in 1913.
On Nov. 20, 1925 she married Jacob Wamboldt in Sterling. He died in 1955.
Mrs. Wamboldt became a U.S. citizen in June 1958. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, the Senior Citizen group, was an avid bowler, and she enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and her family. She was a cook for Roosevelt and Merino Schools and for Rose Arbor Nursing Home. She retired in 1976.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Wamboldt Adamson and husband Bill of Kersey, Carol Holzworth and husband Bernard, and Billye J. Butte and husband Dennis of Sterling; two sisters, Emma Miller. of Sterling and Pauline Werner of Merino; four broth ers, John Helmut of Fort Collins, Conrad Helmut Jr. of Denver, Harry Helmut of Merino and Victor Helmut of Atwood; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and sever al nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wamboldt was preced ed in death by her husband; a daughter, Virginia Clayton; four sisters, Lydia Drake, Mary Brunkhardt, Rose Rakestraw and Jean Meer; a brother, George Helmut; and a grand son, Danny Clayton.
