John was wounded in battle during the Civil War and died aboard the steamship Ocean Queen enroute from Yorktown, Virginia to New York City. He was buried next to his Uncle, also named John Osborne More. He never married and had no children. While the photo to the right might appear to be the wrong stone, it is not. The stone has several errors.
