Abigail was born at Greenfield Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania where her father was a farmer. She was the daughter of Daniel Quackenbush More and Abigail Miner More. She was five years old when her father sold his farm and bought a farm at French Creek, New York, relocating the family to that place. About 1866, he sold that farm and relocated his family to Ottumwa. Abigail married to John McMillin on 15 November 1869 at that place. They made their home at Keokuk, Iowa where her husband was a farmer. He retired about 1910 and they relocated to Ottumwa where they resided on North Sheridan Avenue. Her husband died in 1925. About 1935, her granddaughter, Louise McMillin, moved into her home and cared for her the rest of her days. Abigail and John were the parents of four children; Bertha Louisa McMillin, Charles Edmund McMillin, Dora Pearl McMillin, and Harry Leroy McMillin.
