Mary was a direct descendant of John and Betty More's David line. She was the fourth of eight children born to Daniel Quackenbush More and Abigail Miner More. Mary was raised at Greenfield Township, Pennsylvania where her father was a farmer. Mary married to Sylvester Rous on 31 December 1861. After his service in the Civil War, they made their home at French Creek, New York where her husband was a farmer. They relocated to Corry, Pennsylvania about 1887 when her husband became an invalid. He died in 1900 and Mary married next to widower Andrew Jackson Doud on 28 January 1902 at Sherman, New York. They made their home at Wayne Township, Pennsylvania where her husband was a farmer. Mary had no children from either marriage.
