MO. Sarah d. 1879 Dover twp Vernon Co. MO. Benjamin d. 1882 Kansas, this was on his military records, given by sister Mollie Pilcher & husband. Jesse applied for homestead Union Co OR as a Civil War Orphan less than 21 yrs. old no record of Benj burial yet found, I do believe in was at Sheridan, KS where his oldest dau Elizabeth Hartley lived 1882, it is 7 miles to the Osborn home place at Freedom. Jesse worked for Stephen William Osborn family , Freedom twp, near Fulton, Bourbon KS. 1885 KS state census. Jesse daughter Adaline said he did attend school, on the plate map of Freedom, there is a school house near the Osborn home, Lethe V Osborn a daughter completed 4 yrs of college in KS. Jess left for Oregon before 1887, moved to Union Co.Oregon his sister Mary Jobe Pilcher(James) lived there. Married Laura Powers 20 March 1895 Baker Co. Oregon.
