Bertha Olsen
Bertha Case Olsen, 87, of Provo, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1988, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Provo, of natural causes.
She was born Sept. 21, 1900 in Emery, to Marion F. and Tora Burr Case. She married George Que Olsen, Dec. 24, 1919, in Castle Dale. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died in February 1980.
Following their marriage, she and her husband made their home in Emery until 1971 when they moved to Provo. She has lived here since. She was an active member of the LDS Church, Emery Ward and Pioneer 2nd Ward in Provo. She served in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women's MIA. She served a stake mission with her husband in the Emery Stake. She did genealogy and temple work.
She served as Emery City Librarian for several years.
Survivors include two sons and three daughters: George Eugene Olsen, Simi Valley, Calif.; Gary C. Olsen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Rhody (Norma) Andersen, Murray; Wanda Jorgensen, Vernal; Mrs. Ted (Roma) Van Buren, Maple-ton; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grand-children; two brothers and three sis-ters: Elmer Case, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Glen Case, Orem; Zella Davis and Thelma Nelson, both of Provo; Arvilla Roberts, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Romana.
Service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Pioneer 2nd LDS Ward Church, 450 N. 1200 W., Provo, where friends may call Tuesday, one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in the Emery City Cemetery with graveside service at 3:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Berg Mortuary, Provo.
