Norma Olsen Anderson, age 90 passed away peacefully Friday, May 06, 2011 at her home in Emery. Norma was the oldest of six children born to George Que and Bertha Case Olsen , on March 22, 1921, in Emery. She married Glen Rhody Anderson on June 14, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Rhody passed away December 21, 2006.

Norma was raised in Emery and spent a lot of time at the Mountain Oak Ranch, where she learned the value of hard work and honesty. She was a cow girl at heart, and loved riding horses. She graduated from South Emery High in 1939. After her marriage she and Rhody lived in Emery for a short time before moving to Salt Lake. In 1999 they returned to the family farm in Emery. Norma loved gardening, and yard work, but most of all she loved her family. She worked as a Ordinance worker with her husband Rhody, in the Jordan River and Manti Temple for many years. Norma will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first.

Norma is survived by her children: Eric (Marie) Anderson of Emery, Kathleen Q. (Paul) Mesler of Emery, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren ;siblings: Wanda Jorgensen of Vernal, Roma (Ted) VanBuren of Provo, and Gary ( Cathy) Olsen of Washington, UT, sister-in-law: Patricia Olsen of Simi Valley, CA,

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son and one sister: Romona Olsen, brother: George Eugene Olsen.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for the loving care and compassion, shown to our mother.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 9, 2011 at 12 Noon at the Emery LDS Ward Chapel.

A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Emery Town Cemetery.
