Lucy was the daughter of Wiley Vincent and Mahaley Madeline Axum Bell. Her parents are buried in Bell Cemetery. She shares a stone with her husband, Sam J. Norton. She died in at her home in Anderson Co, TX. She was survived by her husband; two sons, Buddy Norton of Rusk, J. R. Norton of Ennis; seven daughters, Ethel Mae Rainwater of Athens, Mary Wilson of Kaufman, Girlie Hoppers and Eula Nell Norton of Palestine, Dorothy Grant of Texas City, and Katie Lee Whiteley and Lola Pearl Moore, both of Ennis. Her obituary appeared in the Palestine Herald-Press, Monday, 18 August 1947.
