HENRY OFFENBURGER
Henry Offenburger, son of Landelin and Mary Offenburger, was born in Quincy, Ill., on Nov. 26, 1878. On Oct. 6, 1963, he was taken to the Baker nursing home and passed away December 16, 1963, at the age of 85 years and 20 days.
On February 17, 1907, he was united in marriage to Adda Myrtle Smith at Chariton. To this union five children were born, three sons, Randall and Ed, at home and Neil of Chariton; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Mary) New of Corydon and Mrs. Delbert (Sylvia) Hull of Russell.
Henry came to Iowa when a small child and resided in Warren county for a number of years, coming to Lucas county 37 years ago. His was a family of nine children, he being the last survivor.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Adda, his five children, daughter-in-law, Vivian, sons-in-law, Chester New and Delbert Hull, nine grandsons, three great-granddaughters, six great-grandsons, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. One grandson, Ronnie Offenburger of Phoenix, Ariz., was unable to attend the funeral.
Services were conducted Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Miley Chapel in Chariton by the Rev. Everett Hollingshead. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.
