Oldest daughter of Christopher and Elizabeth Tompkins.
Wife of Dr. Henry Wythe Tabb, married 22 Jul 1828. Martha and Henry were cousins.
Children:
Mary Eliza Tabb 1829–1859
Sally Van Bibber Tabb 1831–1897
Harriet Wythe Tabb 1833–1840
Henry Wythe Tabb Jr 1835–1840
Lucy Cary Tabb 1838–1889

From Dr Wythe's dairy:
Our life flowed on in the enjoyment of quiet and tranquil domestic happiness until August 1842 when my wife was attacked by a bilious remittent fever, which proved obstinate but after a time was apparently subdued; some little imprudence brought on a relapse and she died in a chill. All means internal and external failing to restore the circulation. She died without a struggle, in the full possession of all her faculties. Again deprived of the greatest blessing bestowed by providence on man, a tender affectionate amiable wife, and left in solitude for its was thought best that my three remaining children should be removed to their grandfather's Col. C. T. Tompkins of Poplar Grove, there to go to school.
