William, son of James and Sarah Hilliard, was born in Monroe County, Ohio March 1, 1857. He married Sarah Pennington September 18, 1879 and they had ten children. Three died in infancy. Sarah died March 30, 1900.
On January 19, 1905 he married Alice [Dickey] Brown and they had six children. One died in 1918.
He leaves his wife; four sons; Ed of Cisne, Fred of Akron, Willis of Honolulu and Ira of Fairfield; eight daughters, Rosa Leathers, Emma Matchett, Dessie Matchett, and Nellie LeCroy of Cisne, Hattie Henson of Johnsonville, Edith, Allie and Stella of Fairfield. He also leaves six brothers, George, John, James, thomas, David and Sylvester; and two sisters, Mary Cates and Hannah Barr.
Burial in Hale cemetery.
