Mrs. Walter Leathers Dies Friday Night

Lifelong Indian Prairie township Woman Had Heart Attack; Rites Sunday

Mrs. Walter Leathers, 76, well-known and lifelong resident of Indian Prairie township, died at her home of a heart attack Friday evening about 8:30.

Her husband, a well-known stock raiser and farmer, died June 12th, 1954.

Death Was Sudden

Mrs. Leathers had not enjoyed good health for some time but her death came as the result of a sudden acute heart attack.

Funeral services were held from the Rock Branch General Baptaist church Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Ray Phillips in charge. Burial was in the Cisne cemetery.

Rosa Jane, daughter of William and Sarah Hilliard, was born near Johnsonville April 9th, 1880. She grew up and spent her life in the vicinity of her birth. She confessed faith in Christ and joined the Rock Branch church early in life.

She married to Walter Leathers January 6th, 1901, and one son was born to this union.

Surviving are the son, Ralph, who lives near the family home; one brother, Fred, of Ravino, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Matchett, of Johnsonville; Mrs. Bessie Matchett, of Ravino, Ohio, and Mrs. Nettie LeCroy, of the Rock Branch neighborhood; a grandson, . . . ; a granddaughter,. . . ; three great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Willis and Ira Hilliard; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Edith Rogers, Mrs. Stella Cousins and Mrs. Allie Cousins.
