He married Josephine McSherry in 1875 and fathered Edward Francis (b. 12/21/76), Mary "Mamie" (b. 07/??/76 - married Charles Jacoby), Matilda Catherine (b. 09/26/81 - married John Timmins), Henry Sylvester "Harry" (b. 08/11/86), and Anna J. (b. 12/??/93 - married Eugene Pohlman). In 1890-1900, he lived in Mount Pleasant Township, Adams County, but died in McSherrystown at age 77-6-5 from "mitral insufficiency" with "anemia, arteriosclerosis & senility" contributing factors.
