A native of Bryson City, he had lived in Black Mountain for most of his life. He was a retired employee of Ingles Warehouse and was a member of Black Mountain Refuge Church of God. He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Lyle Grant of Old Fort.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Kelly Grant; daughters, Sandy Hudgins of Marion, Wanda Frady of Black Mountain; mother, Eula Morgan Grant of Old Fort; brothers, Ross Grant of Marion, Roy Grant of Old Fort; Sisters, Mary Ann Hall of Old Fort, Nancy Hudgins of Arden, Nina Ledford of Arden; three grandsons, Lee Hudgins of Marion, Travis and Matthew Frady of Black Mountain.
