Mrs. Baker was born March 15, 1929, to Charles Wesley and Mary E. (Davis) Fogle at home in Christian County, Ill. She married George Baker Sr. Oct. 11, 1946, in Hillsboro, Ill.
Mrs. Baker retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail clerk and served as village clerk for the Village of Granville, Ill., for many years.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ of Granville and the Ladies Fellowship of the church, a school bus driver, a member of the Putnam County Achievement Center in Standard, Ill., a Putnam County Historical Society, Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau and North Central Council for the Aging member.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1985; one son, Greg, in 1973; one daughter, Trudy Achinger, in 2006, one grandson, one sisterand three brothers.
