Funeral services for William Dreger, 83, a retired farmer and former village marshal here who died at home Sunday night, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. James Lutheran church.

He was born in Verona, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dreger, pioneer Dane County residents who came from Germany. He was a lifelong Verona resident.

He was married to Hannah Brown in 1989. He farmed on land adjacent to the county farm and home until 25 years ago when he retired. Mr. Dreger was village marshal here for 1_ years.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Clarence, Allen, and William Jr., all of Madison; and two daughters, Mrs. James Anders, Madison, and Mrs. C Miller, Middleton.

The Rev. H. A. Flessner will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Verona cemetery.

The body will be taken to the church from the Fitch-Lawrence funeral home, Madison Wednesday noon.
