Marguerite Orr was born just outside of Mt Vernon, Mo the 4th child of nine children of Jessie Mae Cochran Orr and James Henry Orr. She was often called "Jack" by her family because her father had expected a son. Marguerite and several of her siblings spent many years at a children's home after her father died. She and Clarence Harlowe had a wonderful marriage for over 60 years and enjoyed their 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
