"COLUMBUS JUNCTION.

Mrs. Harriet Curtis [nee Harriet Mariah Jacobs], age 77, a resident here many years, died at her home on South Hill Tuesday [April 28] following a long illness. She was born near Letts Feb. 10, 1859, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jacobs, pioneers of the community. She was married to Thomas Curtis in 1878. His death occurred in 1910. Surviving are three sons: Fred and Ernest, Columbus Junction, and Emory, of Letts; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Denham, Columbus Junction, and Mrs. J. B. McBride, Muscatine; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hamm, Pinckneyville, Ill. Funeral services will be held at the home of her son, Emory Curtis, at Letts Thursday."
