RACHAEL DEVOE GARDNER, 91, of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Burton and Letitia Green Devoe. Rachael retired from H. I. S. D. with thirty six years of service and a life member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodie Gardner. Rachael leaves to cherish her beautiful memories a devoted daughter: Jacquelyn G. Spence; one grandson: Stanford Spence Jr. both of Houston, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Bethany United Methodist Church at 3511 Linkwood Dr. in Houston, Texas with Pastor R. Daniel Jones officiating. Visitation will held from 9:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. at the church. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
