James Hampson

James Hampson, 84, prominent Pleasantville farmer, succumbed to a heart attack at 10 a. m. today while standing at the mailbox in front of his home where he had gone to pick up the day's mail.

He was born and lived all his life on the farm where he died at the southern edge of Pleasantville. He was a member of Walnut-st Methodist Church and the Masonic Blue Lodge at Pleasantville.

Surviving are one son, James Vernon Hampson, Pleasantville, and a daughter, Miss Esther M. Hampson of the home; two grandsons: James H. Hampson, Fairfield-co deputy sheriff, and Jerry Hampson, both of Pleasantville.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 2 p. m., in the Hampson home, with the Rev. S. C. Suffron officiating. Burial is to be made in the Hampson cemetery by Thomen and Grissoe funeral home. Friends may call at the residence after Saturday noon.

Masonic services are to be held Sunday, at 8 p. m., at the Hampson residence.
