Ruth S. Burkett
Ruth S. Burkett, 80, of New Hebron died February 13, 2004, at Simpson General Hospital.
Funeral services were held February 15 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss. Dr. Lloyd Wilson and Rev. John Price officiated. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Savell, Tom Berry, Donald Berry, Timmy Clark, Zane Clark and Don Knight.

Mrs. Burkett was a native of Tylertown, the daughter of Wilbur Stogner and Lizzie Pope Stogner. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and had worked as a seamstress in the garment industry.
She is survived by her husband D. B. Burkett of New Hebron; one daughter Linda Fay Herrington of Silver Creek; three grandchildren; one brother, Nelson Stogner of Tylertown; three sisters, Ollie Poarch of Petersburg, Va., Leona Sumrall of Tylertown and Betty Jo Hardee of Bogalusa, La.
