Anthony Clark came to the Colonies from Ireland as a child. He married Mary E. Oates 3 Nov 1774 in Mercersburg, Cumberland, NFC, PA. They had nine children: Susan Elizabeth (McClure),John, Robert, James, Mary (Glenn), Anthony, Jr., Margaret (Bigham), Jane (Stephenson) & Fannie.
After Mary's death, Anthony married Suzanne McClure about 1803 in Lincoln County, NC. They had three children: William, Walter & Sarah (Kelton).
Deed records indicate Anthony's children,John, Robert, and Margaret(Robert Bigham) began acquiring land in Rutherford County, TN as early as 1811.
Anthony sold his land on the East side of Buffalo Creek in Lincoln County, NC in 1820 and moved to Rutherford County, TN.
Family tradition is he was a Revolutionary soldier.
